[Error message]
ICE Error No.f4b: Failed to start AP debug.
[Cause]
This error is shown when an access test to MEM-AP registers by Reset or Attach is failed. There may be the following causes.
[Cause 1]
JTAG/SWD clock frequency is too high. Cannot make JTAG communication properly.
[Cause 2]
Bus error occurs when doing memory dump by [Reset] or [Attach] operation, or accessing memory by using debugger. The bus is locked.
[Cause 3]
JTAG communication is prohibited by the user system or user program. Cannot make JTAG communication properly.
[Workaround]
[Workaround 1]
Reduce the JTAG/SWD clock at the User system tab which you can find in [MPU] - [MPU-specific settings].
“Clear the checkbox of “Auto Config” if it is selected. Set 10MHz to 1MHz instead.
[Workaround 2]
Turn off the user system power once and turn it on again. After that do [Reset] or [Attach] again.
If there are other error messages besides this error, resolve that error also.
[Workaround 3]
Do not prohibit the JTAG communication by the user system or user program.
[Specification]
If you do [Reset] or [Attach], Access test to MEM-AP register is performed.
The access test is performed by using TAR of MEM-AP. It tests the followings.
- Programming the test data to TAR has no problem.
- It can read out the equal value as the test data programmed in TAR.
This error message is shown when this access test has resulted in error.
It performs the access test to AP before performing the access test to MEM-AP register.
Access test to AP is performed by using IDR. If the IDR cannot be read correctly, “ICE Error No.f46: Usable AP is not found.” will be shown.
